Vinyasa
Yoga
Vinyasa
Yoga is a graceful, flowing practice which links classical asanas
(postures) together with a thread of breath and movement.
Students are encouraged to stay as present and alive through the many
transitions as they would in the asanas themselves. Most
classes are accessible to all levels, including beginners, as each pose
continues to evolve for each practitioner, continuing to shift
through increasing stages of depth and meaning.
Each practitioner is on a deeply personal pilgrimage
towards their heart and soul, and there is no way to judge how
succesful any journey is at any moment simply by how
'beautiful' the asana appears. Yogis and Yoginis struggle,
this is of the nature of the animal. If a yoga class confuses
you, makes you angry, brings up sadness, exposes vulnerability, hits a
raw nerve, then you are in good company. KEEP COMING BACK! You will
find that your mat is a safe, welcoming place to work through all of
that, to eventually find the relief, the serenity, the bliss that you
were promised.
Yin
Yoga
Yin yoga is a practice which harmonizes chi flow in the body.
It is called “Needle Free Acupuncture”.
Its focus is on the actions which promote energetic
mobilization.
This includes:
1 Pressurizing and pulling on the tissues which house the meridians
2 Breath Awareness, learning to direct the breath to specific body sites
3 Training the quality of the minds concentration
Yin yoga balances the two coessential primordial energies of yin and
yang. Its restive aspect allows the body to source
its own chi needs, while still taxing the tissue to promote
flow. This mobilizes stagnant (yang) chi, and
builds the quality of deficient (yin) chi. This assists the
chi in performing is functions, such as; keeping the immune system
strong, enabling movement of the body and its systems, and harmoniously
transforming raw substances into useable subtle energies.
Yin Yoga is a collection of practical tools that allows one to go
deeper into their body and to open more fully into the experience of
the moment.
