MAUI
YOGA AND AYURVEDA RETREAT
|
December
6th to 13th
|
Sally
and I have been really enjoying putting together the Yoga and Ayurveda
Retreat in December. We've been organizing the menu and food staff,
scheduling kirtan, working out the details of our jungle hikes and
permaculture tours, and meditating on the themes for our classes. We
are almost all the way there, and all that is missing is YOU.
We
have an early registration price of $1850, and that is available until
September 1st. To qualify please have your envelope postmarked by 9/1!
Even
if you can't exactly get your registration in by the first, I would
like to assure that your contribution of $2000 is quite a bargain. One
would be hard pressed to spend less than this and stay on maui for a
week by one's self, and still not get the benefit of daily yoga,
meditation, and ayurveda.!

| THE
LUSH, TROPICAL SPLENDOR OF MAUI'S MALAMALAMA |
|
Mãlamalama
means 'Light of Knowledge' and inspires us to open our heart, our mind,
our spirit, and to reconnect with our true divine nature.
We are dedicated to offer you an opportunity to expand, to grow, to
transition.
To learn more about our beautiful earth, waters, plants and animals,
the relationships between them, with us and to feel the Oneness with
our planet Earth, each other and the divine energies all around an in
between.
Our invitation goes out to people who seek to take the next level in
finding true peace, or to just bask in that peace in a magical place
filled with nature's energy.
On our Hawaiian organic co-op farm, we offer you, in the spirit of
Aloha, an environment for reconnecting with nature and learning with
first hand experience from our agricultural tours and farm experience;
to learn about our Hawaiian lands and ecosystems, our farming, our
culture and traditions. We invite you to experience the 'aina' - the
land, the mana - the divine spirit force, and to let it teach you and
nurture you in your journey of discovery.
Mãlamalama has an outreach program (please donate) reaching
out to wherever in our community, or out further in the world, we are
called to be of service. We travel with our hearts open to offer
support or education to those in need, especially those recovering from
natural disasters, or those in poverty. We offer what our Open Arms can
carry - from Supplies to Hugs. We offer Love in the hope that it will
spread exponentially and unconditionally, the same way it has come to
us.

will working closely with Rev. Kedar St John to
make sure that our dining will be an authentic and delicious
experience. Kedar is the minister of the Temple of Peace
Spiritual Center and Healing Sanctuary, an inter-faith spiritual
community whose doors are open to all who aspire to seek genuine
spirituality, personal change, and loving service to humanity. As we
achieve a new level of awareness about our bodies and health, we can
restore our personal power and integrity. New information creates
opportunities to start making changes resulting in wise decisions.
Sally and I ate at his Temple of Peace one evening while we were in
Maui. The food was delicious, and the service and devotion of his staff

| JOURNEY
WITH THE WHALES |
November

Christina
leads a very soulful ceremony of connection with our Whale Bretheren.
She has a deep understanding of these magnificent creatures, and they
really seem to love and appreciate her. When we were there, they danced
all around our boat for hours, and were happy to sing for us as swam
beneath the waves with them.

SUNRISE
FIRE CEREMONY ATOP HALEAKALA VOLCANO!!!
|
|
|

Agnihotra is a healing fire from the ancient science of Ayurveda. It is
a process of purifying the atmosphere through a specially prepared fire
performed at sunrise and sunset daily. Anyone in any walk of life can
do Agnihotra and heal the atmosphere in his/her own home. Thousands of
people all over the world have experienced that Agnihotra reduces
stress, leads to greater clarity of thought, improves overall health,
gives one increased energy, and makes the mind more full of love. It is
a great aid to drug and alcohol deaddiction. Agnihotra also nourishes
plant life and neutralizes harmful radiation and pathogenic bacteria.
It harmonizes the functioning of Prana (life energy) and can be used to
purify water resources.
Agnihotra is an ancient science given in Sanskrit language at the time
of creation. Sanskrit was never anyone's mother tongue; it is a
language of vibration. We can make changes in the atmosphere with
Sanskrit mantras and fire prepared with specific organic substances,
timed to the sunrise/sunset biorhythm. The fire is prepared in a small
copper pyramid of specific size and shape. Brown rice, dried cowdung
(manure) and ghee (clarified unsalted butter) are the substances
burned. Exactly at sunrise or sunset the mantras are spoken and a small
amount of rice and ghee is given to the fire. There is not just energy
from the fire; subtle energies are created by the rhythms and mantras.
These energies are generated or thrust into the atmosphere by fire.
This, in addition to the qualities of the materials burned, produces
the full effect of this healing HOMA (healing fire). Much healing
energy emanates from the Agnihotra pyramid.
Tremendous amounts of energy are gathered around the Agnihotra copper
pyramid just at Agnihotra time. A magnetic-type field is created, which
neutralizes negative energies and reinforces positive energies.
Therefore, a positive pattern is created by one who does Agnihotra
merely by his/her performance. Agnihotra purifies the atmosphere of
pollutants and neutralizes harmful radiation. The resultant atmosphere
gives nourishment to plant life.
